The snow is falling and I am forgiven

Here in Michigan we are experiencing our first real snowfall. A little early even for us.

But I love the first snowfall of the season as it so reminds me of Isaiah 1:18, “my sins once scarlet, are washed white as now.”

At this stage of my Christian walk, my “sins” are far more subtle. Things like overindulgences, pride, judgmental attitudes, unforgiveness at times, snarkiness, etc.

While I might call them character flaws, God stills calls them sin because they interrupt the flow between the Holy Spirit and me. They cause me to “miss the mark” which is the definition of sin.

So I ask forgiveness knowing as I do that God’s love is covering up those “sins” just as the snow is covering the ground. And He will never use them against me in the future.

Do you suppose that’s why God sends snow? If so, I’m glad I live in Michigan so I can experience this visual reminder of God’s forgiveness every winter.

What a blessing and a comfort that is to my soul.

God bless and remember to forgive yourself as well.
