Connected to God for rescue
In times of trouble and despair, we need a rescue. When we feel lost or overwhelmed, we need a rescue. Our rescue is found in the author of our faith. It is through Christ that we find comfort and guidance.
Remembering helps
We draw strength from those previous triumphs. It is this deep-rooted faith in God that uplifts us and empowers us to navigate these new challenges with hope. We remind ourselves that we are never truly alone in our journey.
While we are encouraged to live in the moment, the past is what anchors us. We reflect on the past, recalling how God has been our steadfast anchor amid life’s stormiest seas. When I read some of my older journal entries, I am encouraged by the fact that I came through victorious. God often told the Israelites to remember their past as encouragement for the future. It works for me.
Knowing scripture helps
The first I memorized was Proverbs 3:4-6.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3: 5-6.
This verse emphasizes the importance of putting your faith in God with all your heart, reminding us that it’s okay not to have all the answers. It encourages us to release the burden of trying to understand everything. I am one of those people who like answers and hate not being able to figure things out, especially when they concern people, which they often do. When people confuse me, I try hard to figure out the “why”. However, I am learning to let this go. It’s not my job to fix everything or everyone, and it’s not yours either.
Are you like that? Wanting to rescue everyone? I can tell you from personal experience, it seldom works. That’s because for someone to be rescued, they have to know they need rescuing. There is only one true rescuer, and that is God.
Acknowledging God means we acknowledge his supremacy. Moreover, these verses emphasize the importance of acknowledging God’s presence in every aspect of our lives. They assure that we are guided on our paths, even when the way forward seems unclear.
Doubt
Sometimes, it can be challenging to connect with our faith; doubts can overwhelm our hearts and minds. It might feel tough to fully embrace the hope and comfort that our beliefs offer us. In these vulnerable moments, reaching out to others in our faith community can be incredibly comforting. Hearing the experiences of others who have faced similar doubts can often help reignite the flame of our faith.
Doubt can be a path that draws us nearer to God. It’s in those moments of questioning that we often find God waiting for us amid our uncertainty, inviting us to explore deeper truths and gain insights into our faith. From my own journey, I’ve discovered that after navigating through a season of doubt, I emerge not just resilient but profoundly transformed, feeling stronger and more connected than ever before.
Each moment spent wrestling with my beliefs brought forth a clearer understanding of my relationship with God. Through prayer, reflection, and even moments of silence, I embrace doubt as a catalyst for growth. This leads me to revelations that have enriched my spiritual life and offered new perspectives on love, grace, and purpose.
Struggles, Standing, and Rescue
Aren’t there times you feel that your struggles somehow diminish your standing as a Christian? We see them as an indication that there is something wrong with us. OR. We go the opposite direction and think it means we are super Christians, because we are being tested. How about, instead, we admit our struggles are struggles common to the human race and that we don’t have to define them one way or the other? Instead, we have to trust God to rescue us.
How God RescuesThrough:
- Prayer and faith: God rescues through prayer, ours and our prayer warriors.
- People: God rescues individuals as instruments to provide rescue or support to others in need.
- Physical and/or emotional healing: God rescues by providing physical and emotional strength and comfort during difficult times.
- Guidance and direction: God provides wisdom and direction from His word.
- Grace and mercy: God rescues through grace and mercy even when we don’t deserve it.
- Through overcoming spiritual darkness: God can rescue individuals from the “dominion of darkness” and bring them into the light of His kingdom.
- Through letting us “sit” for a while. Sometimes rescue doesn’t come when we want it. And if it did, we might lose a growth spurt. (I know.)
Concluding
Connecting with God is all about embracing the amazing power of faith and realizing the incredible transformation it can bring to our lives. When we open ourselves up to His will, we invite a deep sense of freedom and renewal. His everlasting love is like a warm hug, reminding us that we are never alone, especially when things get tough. His love tells us that we are truly cherished and valued, giving us the strength to tackle anything that comes our way.
And His presence is a source of comfort and strength. Because of this, we are reminded that even in our darkest moments, we are never truly alone. By concentrating on our favorite strength-building scripture verses, we can find the courage to face our challenges head-on and emerge victorious.
How does anyone manage their day with God? I sure can’t.
God bless, and have a good day.
