HELP! I have a pumpkin-making obsession.

Last year I made lots of fabric pumpkins like this one.:

This year I’m obsessed with these made from Dollar Tree pumpkins. If you lived nearby you would be getting one because I just can’t stop. I’m not going to give you the tutorial but here’s the link.

If you don’t want to go to the link, this is just a Dollar Tree styrofoam pumpkin. Take off the green stem and make a pencil-size hole. I found too big of a hole made finding the right size twig a little harder. I used mostly pieces of driftwood I find on my walks on the lakeshore. Plus, I keep all stems from prior year’s fresh pumpkins.

Next, cut a circular piece of fabric about 18″ around. Place pumpkin in the middle of the wrong side of the fabric and start bringing up fabric and tucking into the hole. I used scissors for this but maybe even a pencil would be good. Keep going around till all the fabric is tucked in. Make any adjustments so it looks fairly uniform.

I found that an 18″ piece of fabric was a little too much but that’s what the directions call for. After the first one, you’ll have an idea of how much you really need. I think it depends on how far down you tuck the fabric.

They are lots of fun. Here’s some I’ve made this year:

I would have arranged these all cute and everything but I gave them all away!

Anyway, I have to go. I need to go talk to someone about my obsession!. 🙂

God bless and have a great pumpkin kind of day.
