Weighing the heart

Reading today from Proverbs 21.

Sometimes I feel like I have to sacrifice more than even God requires. How good to be reminded that what God desires is that I do right and provide justice for those who need an advocate.

Later on in verse 13, we are told that if we don’t reach out to the poor (usually this means poor financially but there are also the “poor in spirit”) our own cries for help will go unheeded.

A comprehensive reading of the four gospels echoes these two themes over and over again.

Just wanted to share that today as we too often get got with the “particulars” of our faith and forget that living it out is really very simple. (Not be confused with easy)

God bless.

Rebecca
