So what am I up to this week?
Well, first, we’re at our up-north cabin which is really only 2 hours from our house. But out cabin is in the woods.
We’ve bought it 20+ years ago. In 2017, we had a local Amish company build my she-she’d. It was fun “clearing the land” to find the right spot. It sits about 20 yards from the cabin and is 12 x 16.

To my right is the main cabin. It’s small, maybe 700 sq feet now that we’ve added a bedroom.

Every time my hubby and (and I do mean every time) come here we tell each other we still don’t believe how fortunate we are to have this place to come to.
Decorating both structures has been a lot of fun. Everything in them is from garage sales or thrift store except for the futons in each and the major appliances. I’ve repainted, restored or recovered all of it.
But in the last two or three years, I haven’t changed a thing. That’s unusual for me. I think that means I think it’s just right now. Or maybe it means I’ve become lazy.
We are to enjoy the blessings God gives us. But I often find myself asking why? Why me?
Usually we ask that when we’re struggling. But for me, it’s when I feel blessed. And it certainly isn’t because I haven’t experienced hard times. I certainly have. Both my husband and I have.
And besides, it isn’t always going to be this way, is it? Will I feel as blessed when it isn’t?
But we can only live in the moment God gives us.
I share this with you today because if you’re like me, I want you to know you are in good company.
What I do in days like this is simply say, “Thank you, God. Thank you for everything. Thank you for everyone. Show me how to bless others.”
Have a good weekend and enjoy your blessings.
