ANXIETY: A poem to encourage you now

road under cloudy sky

Anxiety consumes me

Scares me, shuts me down

I am silent with fear,

I try but can’t rebound.

Where can I hide

Till “‘It” goes away?

What can I do?

When will I play?

I look to God.

Is He even there?

I know He is,

But I don’t feel His care.

I speak to my soul,

“Soul, why so blue”?

I echo King David,

“It’s up to you.”

“Put your hope in God;

Praise Him with song

Lift up your eyes;

For to God you belong.

You are his child;

He holds you near

You are not going to fall;

You don’t have to fear.

You are rising up

With each new dawn,

Your smile returns;

You have a new song.

Glory to God.

Anxiety is gone.

Give Him thanks;

YOU HAVE OVERCOME!
