Space for grace

(This wasn’t supposed to publish till tomorrow. So consider this tomorrow’s post. šŸ™‚

We need to make time for grace.

What do I mean?

I think we get so busy we don’t realize that for us to receive the graceĀ God wants to give means we have to makeĀ time in our life to receive it.

Would you agree that grace is a gift? Think about the last time you received a gift. Didn’t you have to take some time to actually receive it into your hands? And then didn’t you have to take time to open it up?

We need to takeĀ time for grace as well.

I often feel grace when I’m spending my “quiet time” with God. And it’s because I’ve set apart some time in my day to be still and concentrate on God and his word.

But then I go about my day and often forget his grace even though he’s probably flooding it on me all the time.

So I have a suggestion. Why not take a couple of extra minutes, maybe at lunch and dinner, or a few minutes before we fall asleep? Just give God a little extra time and wallow in his grace. I think that’s what he wants us to do, “wallow”. The second definition for wallow is Ā “indulge in an unrestrained way”.

That’s what we need to find time to do. Indulge and enjoy God’ grace. Over tea, coffee. Sitting, standing, falling asleep.

Grace isĀ unmerited favor. It is kindness from God we don’t deserve. It’s a reason to indulge. Who doesn’t feel like wallowing in something like that?

Make space today to receive the gift of grace.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
