Romans 8:38–39 — “Nothing… will be able to separate us from the love of God.”
Opening Reflection: Love Shouts
Fearis loud. It echoes in our minds, narrates worst-case scenarios, and tries to convince us that the story is over. It can prevent us from moving forward, binding us in a cocoon of doubt and anxiety. But Scripture reminds us: love gets the last word. God’s love is unshakable, unbreakable, and unending. It is a beacon of hope that pierces through the darkest moments. Anxiety, grief, or uncertainty can’t silence God’s love. It speaks louder.
Love holds firmer, wrapping us in its embrace when we feel most vulnerable. It stays longer, lingering in our hearts and souls, providing comfort in our most trying times. When fear tries to write your ending, God’s love steps in with a better script. He writes about redemption, restoration, and hope. God’s love rewrites our narratives to reflect His grace. Your fear does not define you. You are held by love, a love that transforms and uplifts. And love always finishes what it starts, guiding us toward a future filled with promise and peace.
Real-Life Example:
You’re grieving a loss, and fear whispers, “You’ll never feel whole again.” It tells you healing is impossible. But God’s love holds you through the ache. It reminds you: this isn’t the end. You begin to see flickers of hope, moments of comfort, signs of life returning. Not because fear disappeared overnight, but because love stayed.
As you continue on your journey of healing and finding solace in God’s love, remember that fear may linger in the shadows, but it doesn’t have the power to dictate your future. It is God’s that will guide you towards wholeness. Embrace the flickers of hope and moments of comfort as reminders that love always triumphs over the darkness of fear. With each passing day, you’ll discover that it is love that has the final word, not fear.
Reflection Prompt:
What fear has been trying to write your life’s story lately? What truth from God’s love can rewrite that ending—and remind you who holds the pen?

Nothing exciting today. I kinda’ like days like that, don’t you? But I have been organizing and cleaning out a lot of stuff which I feel good about. Inevitably, that means finding some “treasures” from the past. Crafts I have long since abandoned and then when I find them I realize how much I used to enjoy Read more
Guess what? As I write, hubby and I are sensing God telling us to cancel our trip. Yep, you heard it right. Cancel. So I’m writing this on a Saturday because I think it’s important to follow-up on that post. Hmm, so how did I get here after the snowplow analogy from yesterday? Didn’t I say God Read more
Hey, everyone, I’m sorry I didn’t get my usual post out this morning. I had some “important” errands to run (you’ll hear about those next week but take the word “important” lightly. K?). But before that, I had to get my walk in. My husband and I decided to drive to our nearby state park Read more
(The picture you see in the header is the subject of this post. He’s eating spaghetti all by himself. Thought the orange cheeks needed some explanation.) I usually don’t write “off the cuff” but today I am. I am reacting to something that was reported on the news yesterday. I knew it anyway but hearing Read more
So you’re going to think all I did this past weekend was watch movies. Actually, I did a lot. We’re cleaning out a lot of stuff. And I do mean a lot of stuff. I’m thinking through everything I lay my hands on, whether I really do use it or if I have ever used it. Is it something Read more
We can’t-always know what to do that is. Sometimes God puts us “on hold” and we wonder why. Or there is some habit some activity that God seems to tell us “no” and other people “yes.” It seems unfair. But part of our Christian walk is to learn to be comfortable with “God pauses”. Whenever Read more
