Some good advice from Piglet

“Today was a Difficult Day,” said Pooh.

There was a pause.

Do you want to talk about it?” asked Piglet.”

No,” said Pooh after a bit. “No, I don’t think I do.”

“That’s okay,” said Piglet, and he came and sat beside his friend.

“What are you doing?” asked Pooh.

“Nothing, really,” said Piglet. “Only, I know what Difficult Days are like. I quite often don’t feel like talking about it on my Difficult Days either.

“But goodness,” continued Piglet, “Difficult Days are so much easier when you know you’ve got someone there for you. And I’ll always be here for you, Pooh.”

And as Pooh sat there, working through in his head his Difficult Day, while the solid, reliable Piglet sat next to him quietly, swinging his little legs…he thought that his best friend had never been more right.”
A.A. Milne

I came across this on another blog and thought maybe some of you might need this today.

It’s getting old, isn’t it? This whole Pandemic thing. But for most of us, we only have a few more weeks to go. But it will never be just a bad memory for some. It will be lifechanging as they grieve the loss of thier loved ones.

But we can do this.

You can do this.

Remember, God knew all this was coming and he’s been walking through “this valley of the shadow of death” with us right along. (Psalm 23)

If you’re anything like me, when we return to our new normal, it will still be scary. Scary to get too close to our friends and family. Scary to go to the grocery store. Scared to be around more than one or two people. Continuing to practice “social distancing”.

But there is no “new” normal where God is concerned. We can get as close to him as we want. God does not practice “social distancing.”

God bless and have a good day.
