Why our thoughts shouldn’t control us
My husband and I have been out-of-town. We’ve visited Canada, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York.
What a beautiful world our God has made.
Each vista we viewed reminded me again of the power and creativity of our God. I can never understand how anyone thinks creation is haphazard or that it just “happened”. But I give the naysayers their space. If the beauty of this world can’t convince them, I’m not sure I can either.
Besides, God says everyone already does know. So that must mean they simply choose to ignore the knowledge that God has already placed within their hearts.
Moving on…………..
Our kitchen remodel started today. It’s not major. We are replacing the bottom set of cabinets, counter-top, and back splash. We have purchased a new refrigerator and dishwasher. And, we are having a new vinyl wood floor installed.
My husband and I have painted the kitchen and all the other cupboards. What a job!!! This has been underway since August due to lots of delays.
Next week, I’ll be right back on schedule and have a new series I will be writing about how our thoughts influence moods.
Being away these past two weeks has been good for me. It’s always good to “step-back” for a time, especially from blogging. I fine-tuned a few things, learned a few things, and gave my mind a needed rest.
Our thoughts are just about the most powerful part of our psyche. They determine our mood, our actions, our health, etc. Never underestimate the power of your thoughts.
We are always thinking.
God created our marvelous bodies and our minds. We are his creation from the top of our head to the soles of our feet. Scripture says we are wonderfully and marvelously made.
So with that line of thought, doesn’t it make sense that God never meant our thoughts to control us?
God is the one that is supposed to be in the driver’s seat.
