LIFE

Good Monday morning and why I loved my week-end

Remember I told you last week, how my hubby and I said if we could just make it till the end of June, the summer was ours.

Well, if this last weekend was any predictor—Now, I’ll just bet you think I’m going to say it was a disaster, aren’t you?

Nope. It was great.

I went to garage sales and while I didn’t find anything great on Saturday, I did find these adorable stacking tables  the day before.

After garage sales, I went to Hobby Lobby. Haven’t been there in months. I found some great scrapbook papers even though I don’t “scrapbook”. Then I bought these “extras”. Have no idea how I’m going to put it all together. It was just fun coordinating it all for a future project. I already have a project in mind. scrapbook paper

Then I came home and used the table saw to cut some wood pieces for a Christmas project under way.

I made an amazing pizza with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and pineapple. YUMMY! Did I tell you I’ve decided to become a gourmet cook? No, really. Will tell  you all about this new desire later this week.

Sunday morning at church was great. The message was given by a former interim pastor that we really like. It was about how the church today is supposed to be a microcosm of heaven. Basically, he said that you’re not going to like heaven very much if you think everyone is going to be like you, look like you, and have the same political and religious leanings as you do.

Hmmmm……..

I took my mom to visit her friend while I went to JoAnn’s. (Another store I haven’t been to in a long time.) Afterwards, she was even up to walking around in the mall for a little bit. Normally, I don’t go to the mall or recreational shop on Sunday’s but I knew my mom needed a change of scene.

I came home and made zucchini fritters for dinner, Here’s a recipe very similar to the ones I made. They were great. There are lots of variations on Pinterest. I like coating them with Panko crumbs. Click on the picture for the recipe.  l like serving them with sour cream, and applesauce. Potato pancakes are often served this way so I just did the same thing. (This is not a picture of the ones I made. I forgot. As usual.)

ZUCHINNI FRITTERSBut what was great about the weekend was that I didn’t feel rushed even once. I didn’t feel I should be doing more of anything. It was relaxing and fun. Just what I needed.

All in all, a perfect weekend.

God bless and have a good day.
