Alphabet of thanks, “K”

“K”

“K” is not easy. I could cheat and use a “C” word that sounds like “K” and justify my choice based on phonics. But I won’t.

I’m going to pick “kangaroos.” (They are not “pretty”, are they?)

“Why”, you ask?

Because kangaroos remind me of Australia and I love Australia. One of my favorite movies is titled, you guess it, “Australia”. It stars Nicole Kidman and the gorgeous Hugh Jackman. It’s the Australian version of “Gone With the Wind.”

Plus, I’ve been there. Let me tell you that was one long trip from Michigan!

The best “cafe au lait” I’ve ever had was at a little restaurant across the street from our hotel. I drank at least one a day.

My husband often saw kangaroos on his way to work but they only ones I ever saw were in the zoo.

By the way, about that zoo in Australia.

When my husband and I got home from that trip we both became very sick. We went to our doctor who, when we told we had just got back from Australia, did a lot of blood work. Our blood sample was even sent to the CDC (Center for Disease Control) for testing. Nothing identifiable showed up. Our doctor was convinced it was some wierd disease we had picked up at the zoo.

We were pretty sick, especially my husband, for a few weeks.

Still I I’m grateful for kangaroos because they remind me of that once-in-a-lifetime trip.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
