Christ died to self. What have you died to?

The term “Good Friday” is an oxymoron.

On the one hand, it’s a sad day. Christ died a horrible death today.

On the other hand, it’s a good day. If Christ hadn’t died there would be no hope.

I feel it’s a day for reflection. What has the death of Christ meant in my life?

Have I died to the things that hinder my relationship with God? And it doesn’t have to be sin.

I heard something that got my attention today. The speaker was saying that there are many things other than what we call “sin”, that can get in the way.

It may be something as simple as time management. Have I died to using my time just for myself?

What about my talents and abilities? Am I using them just for myself or am I blessing others?

What about my money? Have I died to having the latest and the best of everything? Am I content with what I have or am I constantly wanting more?

As you can see, it isn’t always as simple as sin.

So as you contemplate what Christ’s sacrifice meant to Him, ask yourself what does it mean to you?

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
