Did I ever tell you about “Wilson”?

A few years ago, my husband and I took our grandchildren to Yellowstone Park.  Fun, fun, fun.

No, really, it was fun.

Did you ever see the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks? If you did than you will understand my reference “Wilson”.

Wilson

This is Wilson

If you didn’t, you can find the synopsis of the movie here.

castawayAnyway, while traveling through Yellowstone we had an orange we didn’t eat. The grandkids thought we should name it Wilson after the basketball in the movie Castaway.

The van we had rented had a running board.

We decided to place “Wilson” on the running board to see how long he would stay there. Of course, my husband and I knew he would roll off in no time.

An orange named Wilson

Wilson hung on.

The kids were thrilled that “Wilson” was there the next morning.

Now we had an adventure going on.

Guess how long “Wilson” stayed on that running board?

Three days!!!!

Can you believe it?

We don’t know what happened to him. He’s probably happily rolling along the road somewhere. (At least that’s what we told the kids.He probably got run over or eaten.)smiley face

Anyway, aren’t some things just plain fun? Isn’t it great to let ourselves wallow in a child’s imagination?

I’ll never forget “Wilson”. He brought such joy to our lives.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
