Why we should “do” and not just read the Bible

I read this the other day and wanted to share it with you. I am assuming it is true and even if it isn’t, it’s worth thinking about.

A businessman known for his ruthlessness, arrogance, and religiosity once told Mark Twain he intended to travel to the Holy Land before he died. He wanted to climb Mount Sinai and read the Ten Commandments out loud.

“I have a better idea,” Mark Twain said.

“Why don’t you just stay here in Boston and keep them.”

Isn’t that just like some of us? We’d rather think about what we don’t know rather than actually do what we know to do.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
