If you suffer from anxiety, ……….

(Starting on Monday, I will be posting a series of posts dealing with the subject of anxiety. I realize I’ve already posted today, a couple of times. But I just wanted to give you a heads up.)

If you suffer from anxiety, I think you will find these posts helpful.

Anxiety, like depression, can have many causes.

For example, I have a long history of anxiety episodes. They started in childhood and were brought on by trauma. I’m sure that if PTSD were a diagnosis then, I would have been diagnosed as such. The details are not important.

But I grew up afraid. I knew what I was afraid of during those growing-up years. But as I got older, I would still have those anxiety attacks. Only now, I didn’t know the cause. It’s called free-floating anxiety.

It’s awful. You’ll learn about my own personal symptoms in one of the posts next week.

Someone else I know who deals with anxiety, gets flushed instead. Someone else I know will get migraines. Anxiety can produce many physical symptoms.

In can also produce non-physical symptoms, like OCD. Illness, medication, and hyperthyroidism can cause anxiety.

But then there are what I call, the preventable causes, like too much caffeine, too much sugar, or too little sleep.

The important facts to know about anxiety are:

  • it’s usually combined with depression
  • it’s not fatal
  • it’s not permanent
  • it responds quickly to certain methods
  • men and women both fall victim to it
  • it doesn’t mean you lack faith

So next week, I will be publishing posts about anxiety. Some of them have been posted before, some haven’t.

Certainly, they are not exhaustive. Anxiety, its causes and cures, is a BIG subject. I mean there are books written about it.

I hope you’ll find the posts helpful. If you do a search, you will find more.

God bless and I’ll see you next week.
