Monday morning “finds”

Today’s treasures are really great.

I collect old books and when I saw this one dated 1898, I had to have it.  Look at the date. That’s one of the reasons I like collecting old books. There is often a letter or a note stuck inside that someone forgot was there. I do it all the time, don’t you? There wasn’t anything that interesting in this particular book. Here’s what the inscription says:

I wonder if it was a gift to a young student that needed some encouragement.

Here’s the rest I found that day.

I have a number of great vintage tablecloths like the one below. I will have to make it a point of gathering them all together and showing you. The’re hard to come by at a reasonable price. But every once in a while, I come across a good deal. By the way, the table you see is a very, very old kitchen table that I exchanged with a friend (long story). I painted it with white chalk paint and distressed it. It’s a favorite of mine although my husband doesn’t like it because it’s on casters. But it really “works” in this house.

Hope you liked my treasures.

God bless and you have a good day today.
