A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

  • How do we really cooperate with God?

I love Psalm 46, for so many reasons. It begins by reminding me HE our strength when we need it and our refuge when we feel overwhelmed. So these verses have special meaning for me today. The second half of verse one is a favorite of mine. God is a very present help in trouble. I often borrow… Read more

  • When you haven’t repaid a debt. What do you do?

The parts in italics are fantasy. It never happened. “Today I was stuck in an elevator. That was bad enough considering  I’m claustrophobic. But when the pretty woman in front of me turned around, I was mortified. She wasn’t someone I ever wanted to see again. It’s not what she did to me, it’s what I did… Read more

Why I love this time of year

Can you believe it’s August already? But I love August. “Why?” you ask. Because it’s back to school shopping. No, I don’t have little ones going back to school. But I almost always go with a grandchild or their parent to pick out folders, backpacks, etc. Their parents love me for that! In fact, my… Read more

  • When God takes care of the day

My mother in law’s funeral was last Friday. I think I told you that my husband’s family is Catholic. He is not. He had left those beliefs long before I met him, although no one really knew it. We were pressed to be married in the Catholic church and because we were young, we gave… Read more

  • jealousy. encouragement, inspirational

Why we are jealous and what we can do about it.

When is the last time you were truly jealous of someone? Did you act on it? I don’t think I’ve ever been jealous of a specific person but I have been jealous of their skills.  I have a close friend who has torn down walls, put up drywall, remodeled a bathroom and a kitchen, including the plumbing… Read more

  • depression/inspirational/encouragement

Depression is never an excuse to sit back and do nothing.

I posted this about six years ago. My mother has died. When I read this, I felt comforted knowing I had really tried with my mom. I had left no stone unturned. I thought maybe reposting this would encourage some of you who are dealing with someone who is depressed.. I always felt my mom used… Read more
