I love this piece. It’s in my sun room which is a converted porch in a 100+ year-old home. It’s finny because it’s the smallest room in an otherwise large house and it’s the room in which family and friends always congregate.
Here is the before:

I did lightly sand it because it was a high gloss. Â The wallpaper is from a wall paper book I got from a paint store. Â The patterns are all different. You will see the difference in the final pictures.

I spray painted them silver. This is the only brand I use. I love the gold as well. Krylon makes a good silver but the nozzle clogs up on me a lot.

Next, I sprayed the entire chest with the same silver paint. Then I painted over that with the orange chalk paint. I make my own at a rate of about 1 part Plaster of Paris to two parts water. I mix that really good and then added it to the paint. Since this project I use more of the Plaster of Paris. I like it thicker.

The next step was to sand off some of the orange paint to reveal the silver underneath.

You can see the silver revealed under the orange paint here.Â

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
You’re welcome. It was a lot of fun. I’ve re-done almost every piece of furniture in the house. You might get more than you bargained for. God bless.
Love it fit to show this to Carolyn. Thanks for sharing.
