Smiling releases all kinds of good things. Read how.

Do you remember a couple of weeks ago I wrote how a smile can really make someone’s day?

Well, wait till you here this!

The day after I wrote that, I had a dental appointment. I was sitting in the chair waiting for the dental hygenist to come in, when the dentist came in to check me over first.

He walked in and “Hello”, and I responded “Hello, Dr. Jones”, (not his real name).

He responded, “Well, you just made my day.”

“What?”, I asked, confused.

“Well, you smiled when you said hello and that is such a treat. Most people who come to the dentist never smile.”

We chatted a few minutes and while we did I couldn’t help but remember what I’d written just the day before.

Can I just say, “I was right!”

One single smile can make all the difference in someone’s day. If you don’t believe me, I challenge you to try it.

Try, no matter how much depression might have you in it’s vise today, to smile at someone. Force it however you can. You will probably be smiled at right back and then your day will be brightened as well.

The dentist’s feedback encouraged me. He in turn probably smiled at hbis next patient. Then that person probably smiled at someone. And so on, and so on.

That’s how it all works.

And it works in reverse. Someone is cranky to you. You pass it on to the next person. They pass it on as well. And so on and so on.

Which chain do you want to be a part of?

Remember what Elf said in the movie by the same name?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8HlFaQbpsg

(Thursday’s post fits nicely with this one. It’s all about how to keep our peace.)

God bless and have a good day.
