take stock of your spiritual progress

(This was supposed to have published this morning but I don’t think I have my phone app quite figured out yet. Doesn’t seem to adhere to  “schedule post”.  Anyway, here it is.)

As you know, I read Oswald Chambers every day. Today he writes

Once a week at least, take stock before God and see whether you are keeping your life up to the standard He wishes.

(Further on) My worth to God in public is what I am in private,

To me this says that if what I write In this blog isn’t reflected in my every day personal life, I am a sham. So I take self-examination seriously. Not as morbid introspection looking for something to feel guilty about, but as an honest appraisal of what my life has looked like the previous week.

I can’t say I have a set schedule or any schedule at all, but during my daily time with God, I take a look at how I’m doing overall.

This allows me to focus on these areas during my prayer time.

God bless and I hope you have a good day. This picture should make you smile.
