Christmas Decoratiing Done! Great creative deas for you.

These first Christmas decorating pictures are from my dining room hutch. I decorate it differently every year. This year, it was all about whimsy and gnomes.

These next items are wood blocks that I’m decorating for gifts. They are much cuter than what these pictures show. The wood is very lightweight, good-quality pine cut into 4 x 5″. After painting or staining them, I pasted scrapbook paper on them and then sanded the edges to make them look worn. Then I decorated them with whatever I had.

Some DIY ideas

The pictures below are the typical yarn trees, and I’ve had the Santa’s for years. They are some of my favorite things.

These next pictures are of my fireplace mantle. I can’t get a full shot, but I focused on all-natural decorating. (I have straightened that candle in the first picture!)

Anyway, I might post some more pictures tomorrow. Right now, I’m getting a lot of baking done and a lot of dough ready for the freezer. We celebrate with family on the 14th, so I have to be done way before Christmas.

I already have four cookie doughs in the freezer: white chocolate, dried cranberries, nuts drop cookies, ginger-maple cookies, Mexican wedding cake cookies, and Peanut butter kiss cookies.

What about you? How are you all doing?

I know many who are really struggling this season with grief, illness, and uncertainty. My prayers are there for you if you are one of them. Whenever I get tired from baking and decorating, I remind myself I’m so very fortunate. I try never to assume others are enjoying the season as much as I am. It’s too easy to generalize.

Count your blessings today, but then think about how you can be a blessing as well. Maybe your baking will lift someone’s heart, or that little Christmas DIY project you are working on will lift another person’s spirits.

God bless each of you.
