FAITH, LIFE, Prayer

When you go from a spiritual “high” to real life

I’m kind of strange. But I hope I’m not that strange. I hope there are some of you out there who have experienced what I’m going to share with you.

Here’s the thing.

I love Bible study and pray. I like thinking and processing Bible verses. I love going down those rabbit holes of research where each new truth leads me to another.

And sometimes, if I’ve been praying especially fervently, and I open my eyes, I have the weirdest sense of having been in a different place.

Please tell me you get it.

I certainly don’t mean an out-of-the-body experience. I am well aware when I’m praying of where I am and what I am doing.

I think it just might be that it is my comfort zone. I love feeling all cloistered with God in our own private communication. It feels so safe.

Know what I mean?

I guess I feel like Peter on the mountain top during the transfiguration of Christ. I would just as soon build a temple, too, and have just God and I sit and talk for a while. But as Peter was told “no”, so are we. So am I. We are told to leave the mountain top and live in the real world.

While at our cabin I would sit in a tent we erected every spring and have my daily time with God. I called it my “tabernacle time.” Eventually, I gave up my “tabernacle” because we built my adorable she-shed.

Now, I sit here.

In case you’re wondering why the porch is decorated black, white, and red, and the inside is all pink and girly, it’s because the main cabin is red and I felt it would look better if the exteriors were the same.

But I didn’t want the inside to be red, black and white as that is how the cabin is decorated.

Hmm, to think about it, I suppose I could’ve painted the she-shed pink. Not sure that would’ve gone over with my hubby, though.

So I just live with it.

Anyway, I hope you have a special place where you can lose yourself in God’s presence.

God bless and I hope you have a really good day.
