Have you ever been in the “zone”? Here’s my latest creation.

Most of my art is never planned. That just isn’t me.

We were refinishing our basement and I was cleaning up and putting things away when I spotted a blank canvas. I had a paintbrush in my hand and thought, “Hey, I think I’ll paint a picture.”

I had no idea what it was going to be, what colors, etc. I grabbed the paint closest to me which was blue, white, and brown and thought, “Yea, I’ll paint a picture for our bedroom.”

I remembered this wonderful old frame I add so I kept that in mind. I wish I could tell you the process but I can’t because there wasn’t one. I just kept working with those three paint colors until I like what I saw.

The paint is everything from craft paint to wall paint to metallic oil paint.

It’s layer on layer on layer, scraped, wiped off, etc. It’s my favorite way to paint, having an idea in my head and then letting my brushes have their way with me.

Time loses all meaning as I’m so absorbed in what I’m doing. It’s called being in the “zone”. We can be in the “zone’ gardening, reading, building something, drawing, baking, cooking. I hope you all have an interest like that.

In case you’re wondering what it’s supposed to represent, let’s just say it’s sky meets water, meets land or sky meets clouds meets land.

God bless and have a wonderful day.
