Don’t you just love autumn? Here’s some fall ideas for you.
Don’t you just love fall? Autumn is my favorite season.
Crisp air, falling leaves, no more humidity.
Fall Tastes
But best of all, caramel apples.

I dearly love caramel apples. Our local grocery store carries them quite cheaply, often for a dollar apiece. They last a long time. And, of course, I make my own. I tell myself they are healthy because they are apples. Right? And I justify at least one every day because if an apple a day keeps the doctor away, well…
But it’s not just caramel apples. I find I like decorating in general in the fall rather than at other times. Maybe it’s because the “nesting” effect kicks in, and I like all things cozy. Cuddling, cool weather, and having hot tea after I’ve been raking leaves is the best.. I like the process of warming up in the fall but not the process of cooling down in the summer.
Sewing For Fall
And I like flannel and plaids. I made a couple of plaid blankets for our cabin like the ones below. I just sewed two pieces of flannel together and didn’t even bother to sew the ball fringe between the layers. Then I sewed the ball fringe right on top, and it looks just fine.

I also like flannel scarves. I found this scarf on sale at Etsy, but it would be easy to make. This one isn’t lined, so it would be important to use a flannel that has the same print on both sides.

Then there are these adorable place mats. I plan on making these this year out of old sweaters and felt. Quilt batting would be great as well. Aren’t these adorable?

Natures Bounty

A bunch of these acorns in a glass vase would be so cute. I gathered a bunch over the weekend. I will quickly add some paint, and voila.
We have a sweetgum tree in our neighborhood that drops these prickly balls. They are great painted metallic gold.
Fall Craft
My daughter made me one of these a couple of years ago. She used rusty lids, but if you can’t find those, you can make them this way. You could join them with cording, jute, or whatever you have on hand. It’s really as easy as it looks.

Table Decorations
And isn’t this a sweet arrangement? Small pumpkins would be a nice switch for the apples. Organic material from your yard would work instead of the garland.

Hope these ideas encouraged you.
God bless and have a great day.
