Here are some really great, original Christmas decorating ideas.

Christmas decorating and DIY is so much fun!

This first one below is a frame I got at Hobby Lobby years ago. Probably 90% off. I love working with these frames. This one is covered in Christmas wrap. The birds on the branches are from JoAnn’s, again bought a number of years ago at 90% off. . Snowflakes and bells from DT. Letters from Hobby Lobby.

I don’t think this requires any how-to’s as it’s pretty straightforward.

The rust coffee can is just that-a rusty coffee can filled with Christmas picks. I love rusty!! Will be adding a bow. Orignal and, I think anyway, a great Christmas decoration.

Creating original Christmas vignettes is my favorite.

This next little vignette is a white tray I gessoed and then wiped off. The metal deer are from an estate sale, the trees probably from Hobby Lobby last year, as well as the little sign.

I absolutely love creating my own decorations. I don’t think I’ve ever bought one that I just use as it is. To me, this is the fun of Christmas. I work like a mad woman in the basement all through November and December, crafting, tearing apart, and redoing.

I love original decorating, but God created us as originals, too.

Just like I love original one-of-a-kind Christmas decorations, I know God is the author of original. You are original, a one-of-a-kind. When God crafted you in your mother’s womb, He knew what He was doing. If I’m honest, I question it sometimes. But then I remind myself I am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139 14) As are you.

Too often, we question God’s judgment concerning our bodies, our talents, etc. Why didn’t God just………?

Can we mess it up?

Sure, we can. Our humanness often gets in the way, as well as our experiences.

We let sin deface God’s creation. And when it does, we don’t resemble the unique person God made us. That includes me on one time as well.

But isn’t that what Christmas is about? God takes our messes and brings us back to his original design. So no matter where you are on your journey, there is always hope. Hope that tomorrow you will gain victory over that habit or activity that seeks to destroy you.

When you look at the manager, and you see the Jesus-God baby, see the word “Hope.”

God bless, and have a great day.
