what’s my style? cheap, cheap, cheap

I realized the other day that I haven’t shared too much about my personal tastes so I’m taking some time to that now.

First of all, my clothing.

I don’t know if I have “a” style. I like comfortable clothes. I hate suits and anything stiff-feeling.

I love shoes but because of major foot and ankle problems, I can’t actually buy the shoes I prefer. And even when I do anyway, I only wear them from the parking lot into church or a restaurant, etc., and back.

So my fashion style has had to change. Winter is great for me because boots are comfortable.I like the legging and sweater look, the sweater cuff on the boot, etc.

I love jeans and wear them almost daily. I’m buying more knits and less-structured clothes. I made a vow to myself years ago that if it wasn’t comfortable, I wasn’t buying it. If I try something on and I have to “adjust” it to make it feel right, I won’t even consider it.

I love color but hate pastels, probably because that’s what blonds have always told they had to wear. I like black,soft-white, gray, orange, red, and blue I love brown but gave that up a few years ago. It’s quite aging. I love white blouses but hate the upkeep.

I love accessories especially necklaces and make a lot of my own. I don’t wear many bracelets because they get in my way. I also like scarves.

(I know. They’re a mess. I’m workin’ on it.)

Food style? That remains consistent. I’m not into big three-course meals. I much prefer deli food, salads, great sandwiches, etc. Although every once in a while, I love a typical three-course meal.Usually on a cold, blizzardy day.

I love good cheese and bread.

I could eat pizza every day. Seriously, I could.

I could overdose on peanut butter cups, Mexican wedding cake cookies, and anything that has pecans in it.

I love mango.

My favorite berries are blueberries. And no one I know can eat as many blueberries as I can. Again, seriously.

Hair style. I hate spending time on my hair so I like a simple “do”. And because I also hate to spend time at the beauty salon, I’m always cutting my hair. My hair dresser says I do pretty good. I don’t color my hair. Gave that up years ago. Takes way too much time, and to be honest but not to brag, I’m fortunate because my natural hair color is not too bad. I’m very blond but it isn’t brassy nor dirty-looking. Every once in a while I use a temporary rinse.

So I think that gives you an idea. Oops, forgot to say, I spend almost nothing on clothes. If I can’t get it on clearance, buy it at a thrift shop or garage sales, I’m probably not buying it. I used to manage a clothing store and trust me, if you knew the mark-up on clothes, you’d never buy a full-price anything. Unless you’re rich, of course. Which I am not.

The only thing I might spend some serious money on is shoes or boots and that’s because of my feet.

Anyway, now you know a little more about me.

Would love to hear from you about your style and what you prefer.

Hey, I almost forgot. I went shopping today. And everything you see below, cost $5.00 to $7.00. They were on clearance at one of our stores. They are good quality, I might add. Oh, and guess what, there was an extra 15% off everything.

Yousa, yousa!

One for me and one for my daughter

Off to the side there is a necklace that goes with it. This, too, is for my daughter.

Same dress in black. Also, for my daughter. This is a linen fabric and the skirt is flounced with two bands of cotton lace.

Pink sheer blouse, two light-weight cardigans for summer, black and white chevron print maxi skirt , and Palazzo pants in a tiny black, white and coral print. Also, bought my mom two pairs.

I don’t know about you but unless I’m buying for a special occasion, I prefer inexpensive clothes for the summer. They get a lot of sweat, dirt, etc. and it seems I change clothes a lot more in the winter than I do in the summer. If they don’t make it through the summer, all is not lost.
