How God used a rose to remind me of answered prayer.

I am so proud of this rose.

Here’s the backstory. I’ve had this rose bush for years. I even thought of digging it up last year but just forgot about it.

So when I saw this bud last week, I started to get excited.

You see, I’ve pretty much given up on growing roses. At one point, I probably had fifty rosebushes but the deer and the taller trees have worked against me. And being at the cabin, having foot and back issues, and my mom requiring more time, my roses have taken a back seat. Which is why this rosebud practically made be giddy.

Yesterday though it has morphed into this.

This just may well be the “perfect” rose.

The color is much deeper than it shows here. It’s a true red.

Did I mention, it’s HUGE! I couldn’t find anything to compare it to so you’ll have to take my word for it. It measures at least six inches at it’s widest part and probably about four inches vertically. It smells divine. As much as I wanted to keep it, I gave it to my mom instead.

But as I thought about how long it took this rose to bloom I couldn’t help but think about what I posted yesterday.

I feel this rose is kind of like a message from God, reminding me never to give up.

People may well be on a different timetable as well. Only God knows how long it may take them to bloom. You just have to keep watering and feeding, and trust God to do the rest.

God bless and have a great day.
