A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

(This is a repost as I get closer to marking the one-year anniversary of my mom’s death. If anyone else is going through this, I hope it helps.) Monday was a hard day. My mom is nearing heaven’s door with every breath she takes. I see her footprints getting closer all the time. There are… Read more

Why a vase of flowers in a man’s rest stop bathroom was inspiring.

No, I wasn’t in the men’s rest stop bathroom. This happened to my friend’s husband. We hadn’t seen each other in about six months and a lot happened to her during that time. (She lives about twenty miles from our cabin and we don’t go up during the winter.) A routine test showed her husband had prostate… Read more

Whoa. Wait till you see what I’ve been up to!!!

As you know, I was at “Teeny, Tiny, Cabin” last week. It was a whirlwind of activity. Hubby got the pump working but then we had a leak in the hot water heater. Thank goodness we were able to get someone right away. It’s a good thing my husband noticed it before he turned on the hot water.… Read more

Great pasta and asparagus with lemon vinegar

OK, as you know, I’m on a quest this year to become a good cook. I’m trying to be creative and cook healthier as well. I’ve never liked cooking because I feel inadequate. (I like baking, however, and feel pretty confident in that area.) Plus, I never know what to pair with what. Especially when… Read more

So what happened? I just had this post completely finished and it didn’t ‘save”. It disappeared. I’m was not happy. So here I go again. Have you ever got a big scratch on a piece of furniture and thought, “Oh, no. I’m going to have to sand and refinish it.” Well, maybe you haven’t. Anyway,… Read more

How to use antique game boards in decorating.

This landing at the top of the stairs has changed about a dozen times over the years. Hey, that’s the fun of thrift shopping. You can change it up. I’ve had these crocks for many years. They’ve always been in this general area. Sometimes I’ve separated them and put one each on a step. But… Read more
