Depression’s song: an inspirational poem to bring you hope

Depression:

Steals my joy.
I feel lost, trapped in a bog
Colors fade from bright to dull
The world a hazy fog.

I struggle to find interest,
In anything around me,
Life feels heavy and tiresome,
And I long to be free.

Life is dull; people tire me.
Happiness hides beyond the bend.
I am interested in nothing.
Sleep, my best friend.

The dark gives way,
Here comes a ray of light,
God’s presence fills my heart,
Chasing away the night.

Then the morning comes,
And God comes as well.
Bringing me hope and joy;
My heart begins to swell.

The colors start to shine,
In hues of bright orange and red,
I see hope for the future.
My days I no longer dread.

I’ll embrace each new day,
With gratitude and love,
For I know that through it all,
I’ll triumphantly rise above.
