A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

A swollen red inflamed face and no lips. Beware.

Yep. That’s right. As I type right now, the swelling is going down a little and my lips have reappeared. So what’s this all about? About six months ago, I started a series of facial treatments called micro needling. It’s not a hospital procedure. It’s usually done at a spa.(By the way, if you research… Read more

I wish I had some garage sale treasures to show you this morning, but last Tuesday morning I woke up with a very sore throat. After two days of that, I started sneezing for the next three. After that, it was and is a cough. I am a very impatient patient. I didn’t leave the… Read more

    How “smells” affect our moods

It’s ice cream season.   For me, that means the flavor of vanilla. The only other ice cream flavor I like is Butter Pecan. But mostly I like vanilla. But I like vanilla for lots of reasons. I like vanilla in warm milk. (My daughter calls it sleepy-time milk when she gives it to her… Read more

Why indulgences are good for us.

Sometimes it’s good to treat ourselves. It’s even better to plan for it. There’s nothing wrong with having a little of what you fancy, as my friend’s mother always told her. The thing is,  most of us feel a little guilty about indulging ourselves. And certainly, we can’t imagine scheduling it. But what’s wrong with… Read more

Can we “gift” happiness? No, we can’t.

Can you think of someone who you would like to wrap up a box of happiness and give to them? I’ll bet you can. I think we all have that “someone” in our lives that is never really happy. We would do anything to improve their outlook on life. But,alas,         we can’t.… Read more

When depression lurks in the background.

(I try to post about the link between managing depression through exercise a couple of times a year. I’m a big believer that most people can learn to manage depression without medication. Exercise is one of those ways. If nothing else it eases the discomfort of depression.) Sometimes depression reminds me of a cardinal in… Read more
