I told you I would show you pictures of our cabin bedroom. This is the only brand-new room I’ve ever had, except for the she-shed. The builder and I designed it, including the vaulted ceiling and the size and placement of the beams. The ceiling fan’s blades are beadboard.
The items in the bedroom
I love decorating on a budget. Everything in this room repurposed except for the quilted bedspread I found at Target. The lamps were originally gold but I repainted them a dark gray and then dry brushed over the top with white paint. They look like pewter. Also, I wrapped the shades in rope-like yarn to give them some dimensions. The pillows are leftover Christmas flannel.
The table and dresser were garage sale items painted white. The cotton boll wreath was in bad shape on clearance at Hobby Lobby. However, I was able to refresh it to look good. Originally, I put it on the wall by itself, but as you will see in another photo, I ended up putting a big flat basket behind it to take up more visual space. At the same time, I still think I need to do something else with it. Would love some ideas.

The design
I planned the location of where the door would be in the back hallway and worked with the builder on the placement of the windows. Overall, I was pleased except for the size of the bedroom which I wanted to be 12 ‘ x 16’. But, duh, you have to account for the 6″ studs. Lesson learned. Probably should have said I wanted the interior to measure 12/16. On the other hand, I love it anyway.
This chair is a garage sale find for $3.00. I painted it white and bought some white fur fabric and sewed the corners so it looked upholstered.
The knobs on the small dresser were gray and I spray-painted them gold. I found the gold bird figurines on clearance at Hobby Lobby.
Despite the fact that the pictures of my cabin bedroom aren’t the best, what do you think?

Have a blessed day.
