OK. So I have been dying to try making those wonderful Artisan breads that are so popular right now. I mean, look at some of these. My mouth is watering.
But here’s where I need your help.
I have really small hands and weak wrists. Last year I had to get a cortisone shot in one hand. Some of my issues are due to overuse and some are just because of their size. (By the way, because they are so small, they’re really useful for picking up small items, getting into small spaces, etc.) They serve me well most of the time except when comes to picking up heavy things. I can carry heavy items with no problem. It’s the initial picking up that’s a problem.
These breads require a cast iron pan. I do have a cast iron skillet and if I have anything in it, I can barely lift it. A cast iron dutch oven is much heavier.
So what do you think?
Should I get one or not? My husband has agreed to put it in the oven and take it out when needed. But let’s be honest. That means having to coordinate my cooking with his schedule. That is doable but not sure I want to have to plan so carefully.
So I’m asking for your advice. I would love to hear from you. I have toyed with this idea for a long time. I don’t want to limit myself if there’s a way could make this work.
Thanks for your help and God bless you.
