LIFE

Skeletons, books, and coffee! What a combo.

We were at my daughter’s house for Halloween. She lives in the cutest little town in Michigan.

Every year each business displays a skeleton in front of their establishment. I didn’t take pictures of all them. This is just a sampling.

This one was in front of a restaurant that specializes in Italian food.

This one in front of a Yoga studio is my favorite.

After seeing the skeletons, we had coffee at our favorite coffee shop/bookstore, “Little Paris Cafe”. We go there every time we visit because it reminds us of Paris. We had lattes and Pain Au Chocolat. The owner is from France so his Pain Au Chocolat is very authentic.

BTW, are you wondering what makes a French pastry authentic? If it flakes all over your plate, it’s the real thing. Croissants (which is what a Pain Au Chocolat is really, are very messy if they’re made the right way. It takes three days to make real croissants. Here’s a link to a much easier version.

And, of course, I had to look at some books.. I found these two I have to read. This first one has some really good tips for improving one’s memory.Little Paris Cafe/life

I read a few pages from this book and it contained some good information about how happiness increases as we age. I always thought so anyway.

For me, lattes, pain au chocolate, and books, it doesn’t get much better than that.

So what did we do yesterday? Almost a repeat. Except for this time it was at Barnes and Noble after church. I’m serious when I say, I love sitting in a bookstore, drinking lattes and looking at books.

I took pictures to show you but now I can’t find them.

Guess I’ll just have to go back to B & N tomorrow. Darn!!!!

What about you? Do you like bookstores and coffee as much as I do?

Let me know.

Plus, I had to get away from anything political. The next two days we are all going to be bombarded with phone calls and non-stop coverage of all things political.

God bless and have a good day.
