A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

When worry strikes, what do you do?

I’m attending a Bible class and we are discussing what the Bible really teaches about certain topics as opposed to what we’ve heard others say the Bible teaches. Of course, that alone assumes a “someone is right, therefore, someone is wrong” approach. I’m trying to read the bible with fresh eyes, and not assume a meaning based… Read more

“To be without some of the things you want is an indispensable part of happiness. ” Bertrand Russell I just came across this. It got me to thinking. Do I believe that? Yes, I do with a qualifier. Does a sermon always have to be great?

Can we talk? I want to be honest. Some days church just doesn’t “do it” for me. A recent Sunday was one of those days. The sermon left me cold. The music was OK. No shivers up and down my spine. No, “Aha”, moments. Now before you think I’m a really awful Christian, please don’t.… Read more

Why there are days I just don’t want to exercise.

Some days, this working hard at being healthy and in good shape is just about enough to do me in. It’s not that I work that hard either. It’s just the constancy of it all. It’s always in the back of my mind. How to fit it in. Like today. I’m writing this post on… Read more

the week-in-review and God is good

As you know from Monday’s post my mom fell last weekend and broke her wrist. So this has been a week of doctor’s visits, visiting nurses visits and just more involvement with her all around. She’s doing great but, of course, I worry. She is using a cane and doesn’t use it well. I know… Read more
