A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

  • Why we all need to develop a worldview?

Our Bible study is watching a great video series, called The Truth Project.  It is sponsered by Focus On The Family. (I have not always been a fan of FOTF, but I do like this series very much.) I found it especially good because I’ve been thinking along these lines myself a lot lately. What… Read more

  • Why God’s presence is comforting, never oppressive

Why God’s presence is comforting, never oppressive

Weren’t the Olympics great? I loved watching the swimmers and the runners. And then there was that scandal. I was watching a newscast and the journalist pointed out how in this age of surveillance monitors everywhere, and where most everyone has a cell phone with a camera, that almost nothing can be hidden. So why… Read more

  • God expects us to be eager. But about what?

God expects us to be eager. But about what?

Psalm 5:3 states:  “In the morning,O Lord, you will hear my voice: In the morning I will order my prayer to you and eagerly watch.” I must admit, I have overlooked this important verse. And it is really a kind of a “heads-up” kind of a verse. I told you yesterday how my mother fell and… Read more

  • When your “mission” smacks you in the face

When your “mission” smacks you in the face

Saturday morning. Five-o-clock. The phone rings. bri-i-i-i-ing I can’t say it was unexpected. “Mom has fallen. I’m in the ER with her. I think she broke her wrist”, my brother tells me. “Do you want me to come”? I ask after getting a little more information. He said no. She was already in the examining… Read more

  • The week in review and how I fell off the wagon

The week in review and how I fell off the wagon

This has been a good week. But I fell off the wagon on Friday. For months now, I’ve been amazingly disciplined with my exercise routine and eating habits. Until I saw a big bag of Cheetos at the grocery store. The bag practically jumped off the shelf into my cart. It was meant to be.… Read more

  • What is your mission as a Christian? Do you know?

What is your mission as a Christian? Do you know?

(Continuing with yesterday’s theme) Do we all have the same mission? It’s a b-i-g subject. I think followers of Christ all share the same purpose. I could phrase it a dozen different ways but it all boils down to bringing honor to God, wouldn’t you agree? Honoring God covers a lot of areas. But what… Read more
