A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

What is the real freedom of letting others just “be”?

What is the real freedom of letting others just “be?”? It’s amazingly freeing. The confusion that arises when people confuse us. Did you ever have an epiphany at a most ordinary time on a most ordinary day? When you’re doing the most ordinary thing? (Actually, when I think about it, that’s when all my epiphanies Read more

What happens in Vegas DOESN’T stay in Vegas

I wrote last week about choices. I remembered this post later. It’s one of my all-time favorites.   Let me first say that I absolutely HATE  (Does all that formatting make it clear how much?) the phrase, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”  I’ve heard it used for countless other circumstances since then and I Read more

  • It’s all small stuff.

Sometimes a phrase becomes popular  and we start using it without even thinking about  how it might sound. We use it inappropriately. “Don’t sweat the small stuff”, is one of those. My response, “Who are you to decide what is “small stuff” for me?” Sometimes it’s said this way, “That’s not such a big deal.”  Read more

  • courage is fear that has been prayed

I just saw something on the evening news I wanted to share it before I forget about it. Three Vietnam war POW’s (prisoners of war), were being interviewed. They were asked this question, “How would you define courage?” Here’s what one of them said. “Courage is fear that has been prayed”. Isn’t that great? I Read more

  • doing the right thing no matter what

I love it when I do the right thing because even when I know the right thing to do, I don’t always do it. Especially if I’m tired. Especially if it interrupts my plans. (I hate to have my plans interrupted. “Do as much good  as you can,  to as many people as you can , Read more

  • Please, Mr. Advertiser, don’t insult me!

I almost forgot it was Melt-down Monday as we are celebrating something called Memorial Day here in the States and I’ve been making baked beans, cleaning corn on the cob and making pasta salad for a family gathering today. For those in the States, HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!  Thank to all the veterans and those still Read more
