Why “dressing up” is sometimes the only option.

Of course, “dressing up” is not really an only option but sometimes we girls just have to have a “best foot forward” kind of a day.

That’s what I’m needing today. It’s amazing how the tiniest things can make a difference in our moods, like having a “dress up” day.

I could run my errands today in my jeans and that’s perfectly fine. I love jeans and am so glad the weather is cooler. But yesterday I had a not-so-pleasant day with someone and I’m choosing to counter that today with my appearance.

(By the way, this is one of my go-to suggestions for managing depression. Look as good as you can every day. That person’s face reflected in the mirror needs to look like someone you’d like to be friends with.)

So today I’m wearing my cute black and gray print skirt and red turtleneck, my knee-high black boots, and my gray sweater. It’s raining and ugly but I refuse to go there.

Sometimes we just have to play “dress-up”.

God bless and I hope you have a good day.
