(These pictures are not good but you’ll get the point.)
I think it’s great when you see someone fulfill a dream. I had that experience recently. It inspired me to finish something I started years ago.
So here’s the story. My daughter-in-law was asked by a local business to run for Ms. Asparagus Queen. Hart, Michigan is one of the largest, if not the largest, grower of asparagus in the United States. She was twenty years older than the next oldest. The other contestants were in their twenties.

This picture is shortly after she was crowned. The first runner-up, (the woman on the right) was the next oldest contestant.
I was so happy for her and I was rooting for her all the way. I was not the least surprised she won. In fact, I would’ve been surprised had she not. She was totally at ease and was just herself.
But here’s the point. She didn’t let the naysayers stop her. She didn’t second-guess herself. Who said a fifty-four old woman can’t enter a pageant?

I’m kidding her about having to bow down to her now. I call her “Queenie.”
So if there’s something you want to do and you think you’re too old, I hope this post encouraged you.
God bless you and I hope you have a good day.
