A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

  • violence and how the Church can help

This past Sunday my husband and I were able to attend a church very unlike ours. Different culture, different ethnicity. Very different service. Our church and this church are visiting each other’s Sunday’s service. A group of people from our church attended theirs this week. They come to ours next week. There is a very Read more

  • Stand up to fight depression

Just a quick post tonight from American Journal of Preventive Medicine: Women who sit seven or more hours a day are more likely to have depression symptoms than those who sit four hours or less. Lack of interaction with the environment that comes with sitting for long stretches may contribute to depressions. Excessive sitting can limit Read more

  • art I like and why

No matter where I am, I’m always looking for possible art to copy.  If I’m anywhere there is a painting you can count on the fact, I’m examining it closely. Sometimes I take pictures of them such as this last week. I can’t remember in which store I found them but I really like these. Read more

  • unwelcomed changes

A “breath” prayer is a prayer that is said fairly quickly, often with just one breath.  The ancient monks often prayed, “Lord, have mercy” as their “breath” prayers.  Christians often repeat the name, “Jesus”. I have a number of “breath” prayers.  A few of my favorites are, “Be still and know”, “He makes me lie down”, “Be anxious for Read more

  • Grilled veggies. Oh, my!

I don’t usually post any of my cooking experiments but this turned out so good, I just had to. I cooked on the grill tonight and it was all veggies. I coated the pan with oil and grilled the mushrooms first. Then grape tomatoes and finally some cauliflower (already partially “nuked”). Put them all in Read more
