A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

How to defeat depression as fall quickly approaches

Depression/anxiety makes us feel helpless and hopeless. So I try to keep the door to depression shut. I remind myself that I’m the one who’s in the driver’s seat, not depression. Last week we were at our cabin. We visited a couple of small tourist towns near our cabin. We decided to take a different road home. And wouldn’t you know it, we came across a field of wild sunflowers. I don’t know if you know it or not, but there are perennial sunflowers as well Read more

  • We are called to pray outrageously.

Praying men and women and providence have always gone together. Men and women in scripture prayed about everything because they believed God was interested in everything that concerned them. They did not believe they were at the mercy of a tyrant called nature which they could never interrupt or change by request. The whole history of the Israelites Read more

THE DILEMNA Lord, hear my prayer,    listen to my cry for mercy;in your faithfulness and righteousness    come to my relief.2 Do not bring your servant into judgment,    for no one living is righteous before you.3 The enemy pursues me,    he crushes me to the ground;he makes me dwell in the darkness    like those long dead.4 So my spirit grows faint within me;    my heart within me Read more
