A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

When the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t shining

I am reposting this from a number of years ago with some updates. I had only been blogging for about five months when I wrote this but I was expecting to be a big hit right off the bat. Periodically, I like to go back to the beginning and read some of my earliest posts… Read more

    Decorating a dining room inexpensively

This is my dining room as of now. I love the combination of wood tones with black and white. I painted the table and hutch nine years ago and have never been sorry. The two chairs at each end are from Wayfair. I was really nervous about ordering them but I’m glad I just bit… Read more

Ways to decorate a coffee table

Decorating a coffee table can be a nightmare for many people. Too much and it looks cluttered. The most helpful hint I have to offer is that if you are going to use a number of items, then have a container to “corral” them and keep them looking “intentional”…   The coffee table has been… Read more

Wait till you see these tacky flowers now!!!

So I was at an estate sales with a friend a couple of weeks ago and while I did buy two large tin lids (don’t ask), as I was leaving I saw a pile of “free stuff”. Here’s what the pile looked like. I ended up giving away the tiered “thingee” and the frame I… Read more

    Giving grace in a friendship

When I was organizing my books a couple of weeks ago, I came across a book I’ve had ever since my husband and I were married. I found this poem about friends and thought, “Why not wrap the week up with this poem?” “Oh, the comfort-the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person. Having… Read more

How to make a friendship better.

I used to think I was too sensitive. It is certainly true that things seem to bother me more than other people.  I “read” people and situations very well, a blessing and a curse. For the longest time, I thought it was mostly the curse. After all, I’m the one whose feelings are hurt, right? I’m the… Read more
