A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

This is a different kind of post.

This is a different kind of post. I am hoping by the end of the day, some decisions will have been made that will enable me to care for my mom the best way possible. I want to encourage all of you who have aging parents or if you’re the aging parent, to make sure you have… Read more

  • It’s a choice. It’s all a choice. Here’s why.

    It’s a choice. It’s all a choice. Here’s why.

It’s early and I’m getting ready to head to my mom’s. I read a sentence this morning from Leo Tolstoy and it’s so true, in most instances anyway. Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see them. I have to remind myself of that often. I’m not going to have my mom… Read more

    God really does answer prayer

I’m late posting today but I forewarned you last week  I might be. As it turns out while it’s been really busy with my brother being gone, it’s also been going really well. Mom has not been confused once so far. She is sleeping better at night. I’m hoping the “cocktail” I have her on… Read more

    Next week could be rough

Next week could be a problem. My brother is going to be out-of-town for six days. I have made arrangements for twenty-four-hour care for my mother. We are concerned about how she will do in the evenings. I will be there until she goes to bed but if she wakes up in the middle of… Read more

  • How God changes drudgery into glory

For the most part wouldn’t you agree that our lives are largely composed of the mundane? Our daily tasks take on a feel of drudgery and boredom. We don’t see how God is glorified through doing our job, whether at home or in a workplace or both. But I think that our “drudgery” becomes transformed… Read more

How to make the sun shine on you today

I hope it is. It’s shining on me today but that’s because I’ve finally made a decision I can live with, one I should have made a few days ago. And this decision reflects God’s presence in my life. I can’t go into detail but let me say that my decision meant that someone else will benefit from… Read more
