A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

My Christmas hutch. I love it.

I love decorating my Christmas hutch. This year I just went kind of random. I really like how it turned out To think, I almost got rid of the gold garland. Here’s some close-ups. These trees on the left are wrapped with narrow strips of a red and black wool blanket that was stretched out… Read more

An really cute and easy way to decorate for Christmas

One of my favorite ways to decorate for Christmas is using “stuff”, like inexpensive decorations and incorporating them into what I already have. I like “filling” containers, laying Christmas “picks” on shelves, books, etc., creating “vignettes” in old boxes, etc. With that in mind, I’d like to show you one example using some very large… Read more

  • All is calm, all is bright. Not so much!!!

All is calm, all is bright. Not so much!!!

Funny how we sing Christmas songs and never really give thought to the words. Like “Silent Night.” Like “all is calm, all is bright”. Here’s a beautiful version of the song. (For the story behind the writing of this poem-turned-into-song can be found here.) There was nothing calm about the circumstances in which Jesus was… Read more

Making good memories even when we’re sad

I’m feeling a little sad today. I am a follower of Christ and I believe in praying in faith and confidence that God answers prayer. But let’s be clear. People get sick. People die. Circumstances change.  In other words: Life goes on. Life changes. My granddaughter and I are baking cookies with my mom today. I… Read more
