A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

  • When God brings things to the forefront of our mind

When God brings things to the forefront of our mind

FALSE GUILT AND UNNEEDED SACRIFICE I think when we get to a certain level of maturity in our Christian faith, God’s prompts are pretty obvious. When we’re young Christians, we often have an over-developed conscience and hold ourselves to a standard that is far harsher than the standards God holds us to. We’re big into… Read more

  • How to face a milestone that isn’t welcomed

What do you think of when you think of milestones? Yesterday I faced an unwelcome milestone but first a definition:       1.  stone set up beside a road to mark the distance in miles to a particular place. (Obviously, this wasn’t the milestone I’m referring to. 🙂 )       2. an… Read more

  • How to get to Jerusalem

If I could just lie in bed this morning, eat anything I want, and watch my favorite movies all day, I would. It’s one of those days.  It’s going to be uphill most of the day. By that I mean, I hurt. The sciatica pain is unrelenting these past two days and I’m worried this means my… Read more

How to avoid making mistakes by watching other people

THE DILEMMA Do you find yourself emulating other people and trying to be like them? Do you find it helpful? I do, as well,  but only to a point. I learn just as much by watching what other people do that is harmful and trying to avoid those mistakes. And especially in regards to health… Read more

  • Do you know what a “three-day journey” is?

OUR JOURNEY OF DOUBT Do you know what a “three-day journey” is? I hadn’t heard of it either until the pastor at our little country church we attend when we’re at the cabin, began such a series. Actually, there are a number of three-day journeys in scripture but I’m only going to focus on one today.… Read more

  • How it really is “just like us”

How it really is “just like us”

THE LIE THE LIE Have you ever heard someone say, usually after an angry outburst, “That’s just not like me.” Oh, but it is. Every one of us shares the same propensity to act like everyone else given the same circumstances. We are as alike as we are unique. It may not be our “normal” but… Read more
