A new approach. I hope you like it.

Sometimes, new is good. I hope you’ll overlook the fact that I am reposting. I wanted to see what this looked like. Maybe I’ll post something like this every end-of-month, so in case you didn’t read a post, they are all in one place.

So, what do you think?

Besides, trying something new is good, right? And considering it’s the end of the month, it works out well.

Plus, I like being able to see my posts this way as well. It’s been two months of reflection and sorting things out. Mental health, identifying the truly important, and relationships. Some pretty heady subjects. But what else is there to do in these two dark, cold months?

Now, I contend with this Afib diagnosis. I’m having a hard time adjusting to the medications. But I try to see things in perspective. It’s not terminal. It’s treatable. Perspective certainly helps. Besides, I’m an overcomer in Christ.

I hope you have a great weekend and blessings to each of you.

Me and the beauty queen. A funny story

(About three years ago, WP had a daily prompt where bloggers were encouraged to write a fictitious post about an event in our life that troubled us and for which there had been no resolution. The “fictitious” part was about how we would like it to get resolved. I was digging through some old posts and… Read more

When a doctor shares “his” (her) pain with you

I like my doctor, a lot. He’s my husband’s doctor as well. He’s conservative in his approach which we really like. He’s also very much into holistic health and if there’s a way to accomplish something without a pill, that’s his first approach. He definitely exemplifies that part of the Hippocratic oath that states, “First… Read more

Are you the passenger or the pilot of your life?

I was listening to a sermon on the radio yesterday and I heard this wonderful phrase: You’re not the passenger; you’re the pilot. I’ve probably written more on the subject of personal responsibility than just about anything else. Even as I typed that statement above, I thought about how often I don’t live my life that way.… Read more

  • Why “dressing up” is sometimes the only option.

Of course, “dressing up” is not really an only option but sometimes we girls just have to have a “best foot forward” kind of a day. That’s what I’m needing today. It’s amazing how the tiniest things can make a difference in our moods, like having a “dress up” day. I could run my errands… Read more

Have you heard of Seaman’s Church?

I was getting ready to ditch some leftover yarn and that got me to thinking about knitting and that got me to thinking about finding some new patterns to use up the bits and pieces, and  that, of course, led to Pinterest and ultimately this great website. know, this is It’s a charitable organization called… Read more
