Talking about Christ should be natural and flow easily

Talking about Christ should be easy, shouldn’t it? Yesterday I shared how I felt I had fallen short over our holiday gathering last weekend. But this morning during my devotion, I remembered something.
An example to inspire you.
I have decorated our deck for Christmas. We have a patio heater as well. Weather permitting, I have my time with God before it’s even daylight. We have a hanging lamp out there as well. Because this area is under a steel-roofed pergola, it’s protected from rain and snow unless there is a strong wind.

When I showed everyone the deck area, I shared what I just told you. How I loved having my time with God out there before it was even light. (Remember, it’s not in the summer where it gets light by 5 or 6.) That’s sharing our faith our faith naturally. I had completely forgotten that conversation.
God’s reassurance
I find it interesting that God reminded me of that. Was He reassuring me? I think so. I also think he was reaffirming my approach.
Our God is so good. He chose to encourage me by reminding me of that conversation. I think I had forgotten it because it had been so easy and natural. Why have we thought it should be otherwise or that it should be difficult. There are no rules to follow. There are no formulas.
Just share from your life. For me it was more about being worried I might offend someone. But how can we offend anyone if we are simply sharing our life?
Word of the year.

All this brings me to the word for 2024. I don’t know if you follow that trend, having a word of the year that serves as a beacon for the year. I have a few and most of them center around feeling free to share my faith.
If we don’t feel free in Christ, that’s on us. Christ came to make us free from worrying about how we are perceived, what people think, etc. I am a people-pleaser which isn’t all bad but certainly in this area, it is.
Are you an obsessive people-pleaser? Do you avoid talking about Christ because of that?/
While, it’s always good to consider others and adapt our behaviors (as the apostle Paul suggests) so as to avoid unnecessary conflict or drama, it shouldn’t get in the way of sharing our faith with others.
I hope this Christmas season gives you all kinds of opportunities to let your light shine, just as it did over the baby, Jesus-God.
God bless and have a Merry, Merry Christmas!
